Title: Telomeric and extra-telomeric roles of telomerase in embryonic stem cells and development.
Abstract
Telomerase activity maintains telomeres in stem cells and highly proliferative cells during development and in various post-natal tissues but recent research has indicated some interesting extra-telomeric roles for telomerase in stem cell function. This talk discusses this research field and presents our recent work examining the various functions of telomerase during development and in embryonic stem cells.
